Sole Impressions (2017)

In spring, falling magnolia petals litter the pavement of East London. By pure accident, the fashionable people of the city casually walk over the petals, leaving their fashionable mark - in the form of shoe prints pressed into the skin of the petals.

These abstracted fleeting prints were captured with a series of photographs. As seen on Designboom and Business Insider. An edition of 100 was available from The Archivist's Gallery (London) and Subversion Gallery (Glasgow). In collaboration with Ben Polkinghorne. Photo: Scott Kelly.

Our lives change in an instant. When they do, yesterday’s problems become trivial. Forgotten newspaper front pages were uncovered from the day of major news events - revealing what was the major worry of the day. This was then juxtaposed with the front page the day after. A stark reminder of the fragility of the now.

Pictured is a lenticular piece featuring the day of and the day after the 7/7 terror attacks in London. 1 x 1.2m. 1/1.

The project was featured on Cool Hunting, Designboom and PostAP Mag. You can also find a print for sale at Salon21. In collaboration with Ben Polkinghorne. Photo: Scott Kelly.

The public bathroom toilet wall is often one which is covered in graffiti, Besides the light entertainment it can sometimes give, it’s also a unique societal forum, providing both complete anonymity and also one data point - gender. The Public Toilet Study is an obsessive look at the way men and woman differ in their most private yet public space.

For the study, myself and a female friend documented the public bathroom walls of 50 London locations, gathering up 1000s of data points into a complete study of the genders most deepest darkest weirdest thoughts.

The project was featured on Vice, the BBC and I was interviewed about it on the BBC Podcast The Boring Talks.
